The Enteric and Respiratory Infections Program within the Infectious Diseases Division conducts research in collaboration with the Virology Laboratory and Genome Centre, focusing on genomic surveillance of viruses such as Influenza, RSV, SARS-CoV-2, Norovirus, Rotavirus, and Adenovirus, as well as bacteria. To achieve its objectives, icddr,b is actively engaged in detecting and controlling emerging and re-emerging respiratory and enteric infections through partnerships with relevant national and international collaborators and stakeholders.
The Senior Research Investigator will report to the Senior Scientist and will be responsible for designing and executing research projects, managing research teams, ensuring the collection of high-quality data while upholding ethical standards, and organizing training sessions for research teams on standard operating procedures. Additionally, the role involves enhancing team capacity for conducting population-based research and coordinating research studies in collaboration with government and non-government national and international partners, all in adherence to the research protocol and the organization's values and guidelines.
